I love this quote and just had to share!

The power of the mind {and prayer} is truly INCREDIBLE.  My husband and I put both of these into overdrive three years ago when 'battling' to keep {and adopt} our daughter's bio-brother ... our SON! It was a year long battle ultimately ending in such a positive way.  There were times we had to refocus, readjust and remember to visualize {and definitely pray for} what we wanted as the outcome.
 I'm not quite sure why I felt like writing a little blog post about this quote... maybe because it is easy to get down on ourselves as teachers/educators/parents/spouses/{insert your own descriptive title here}, but we can look at it from another angle ----------> we can focus on what we DO want, what we CAN do and what we WILL be. We can love our current and future worth, potential and value.

Remember the 'Little Engine That Could?' {one of my son's all time favorites!}
Happy Sunday All!  May you be what you want to be TODAY!

Doodles, Doodles and MORE AWESOME Doodles!

I love to doodle, and can definitely appreciate a good doodler!  I came across this website and loved it so much that I thought I would do a little post about it: Doodle Art Alley.
 Samantha Snyder is the owner of the site "Doodle Art Alley" and the fantastic doodles & artwork it contains.  She offers calendars, themed coloring pages, alphabet & number pages, hidden pictures, word finds, and much more!  MOST to download for FREE!  She also some themed books of doodles that you can download for a nominal fee. :D
{This one is FREE!}
Her birthday doodles would make a SUPER CUTE addition to a birthday themed take-home bag!
Check out these alphabet doodles.  Aren't they cute?!
She even has number, animal, positive words, and MUCH MORE.  You are gonna LOVE IT!
I could keep adding and adding ... I think her doodles are DOODLETASTIC!  What do you think? :D

Do you know about Wordle?

Wordle.net is the coolest website!!  Directly from the website, "Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends."

I have a new way to use this website.  I love to keep my kiddos guessing ... wondering... pondering... exploring... making connections ... predicting... etc... Sooooooo I thought I could use Wordle to do just that.
We have been learning about life and products on the farm, and I thought, "BINGO! Use Wordle to create some description puzzles for the kiddos to figure out vocabulary or key words."  I am going to try to make some more challenging to really get the wheels spinning, but here are the 2 that I have made so far. :)

This one describes a "cow."

This one describes a "horse."

That made me realize that I could then create an "accountability sheet" to accompany this activity:

WHAT WOULD YOU USE WORDLE FOR????
